Order Acceptance and Processing

Your order is an offer to purchase from us. When you place an order with us, you do so in accordance with the terms of our agreement, subject to our acceptance of your order. After placing an order we will process your credit or debit card, or obtain funds from your PayPal Account, for payment. It is our policy to charge card for payment upon taking an order even if the products are not immediately available for shipment. As soon as we have received authorisation for the payment from your card provider or PayPal we will begin to process your order through our system and we will send you an email acknowledging receipt of your order together with your order number and details of the Product(s) you have ordered. Please note this email is an acknowledgement and is not an acceptance of your order. Unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled it in accordance with our returns policy, we will accept your order when the Products are despatched to you in the form of a new email advising of the despatch; this will acknowledge full acceptance of your order and our agreement will be formed. By accepting your order, we have a legal duty to supply our Products in conformity with our agreement. If you collect from the London outlet we will confirm acceptance of your order when we provide you with a sales receipt confirming that the order has been placed and processed. We may choose not to accept your order for any reason and we will not be liable to you or to anyone else in those circumstances. If we do not accept your order (whether in whole or in part) we will refund any monies paid in connection with that order (or that part of the order that we do not accept).

Cancellation of Orders

If you change your mind and decide to cancel your order you must notify us at to obtain a 'cancellation number'. You must keep a record of this number. Orders are only cancelled once this number is provided and any claims that an order was cancelled will not be entertained unless a cancellation number can be quoted. Orders cannot be cancelled once the order has been given to our delivery service providers. If you change your mind and no longer require products after shipment you will have to return them under the Return Policy (see below). You will be responsible for returning them at your own cost. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Delivery of Products

The delivery of products to customers is deemed to be a separate contract for services, distinct from a contract to purchase the products. Delivery may be affected in one or more instalments. Before placing an order we ask our customers to ensure they measured correctly. Standard deliveries are to the ground floor. We ask customers to thoroughly inspect products at the point of delivery. All deliveries require a signature upon receipt.

Delivery charges: addresses within mainland UK: all parcels £5.95 delivered within 2-5 working days. For customers located in UK offshore, Northern Ireland, Northen Scotland and International: before you place an order we ask you to email us with the item/s you would like to order; we will be in touch within 24 hours with various delivery options and quotations. Alternatively during checkout, you will be asked to email us for a quote for the delivery to your postcode. At this point the order will not yet go through. We will respond as quickly as possible and you will then be able to process your order. Please note customers from these locations may also organise their own shippers; we are very happy to organise and supervise collections during any suitable day. For express, same day and weekend deliveries: we ask customers to contact our Customer Services team on 020 8520 5539 or at for quotations, delivery days and time slots. Express, same day and weekend deliveries are only available to addresses within mainland UK. We aim to deliver all orders as soon as possible providing the products are in stock. In the event of adverse weather conditions, the delivery times quoted above may be extended. For UK mainland deliveries the delivery service providers will contact customers to arrange a mutually convenient day and time slot to minimise the time of wait. They may attempt delivery twice. If no one is home the delivery service providers will leave a calling card. Should customers not respond to it within 5 days, the products will be returned to us and a re-delivery charge may be applicable. Without prejudice to the statutory rights afforded to consumers under English law, Maison & Mirrors accepts no liability for any failure to ship products where this results from its inability to do so resulting from acts of god, civil commotion, riots, flood, drought, fire, legislation or other factors outside its control, or its decision on reasonable grounds not to do so for reasons of suspicion of credit card fraud or similar, provided that it takes all reasonable steps to notify you within fourteen (14) days of order placement that products will not be shipped as ordered. In such cases Maison & Mirrors will not process any payment or will immediately refund any payment made in full. It is your responsibility to ensure that you order from Maison & Mirrors with sufficient lead time to prevent any loss or disappointment resulting from such non-shipment.

Checking the Products upon Delivery

As part of the purchase contract customers agree to thoroughly inspect products at the point of delivery before signing the drivers delivery note. We will not accept liability for any shortages or damages if they are not reported within this period. If customers do not check the products but sign anyway, the driver will leave; this will confirm the correct products were delivered in perfect conditions. If someone else is signing for the products on behalf of customers, customers agree to advise them that the products must be checked and accept full responsibility for any loss or damage if they sign on their behalf and fail to check. Customers agree to indemnify Maison & Mirrors in full for any losses Maison & Mirrors suffer as a result of customers or their agent accepting products and signing a delivery note without thoroughly checking the products for damage.

- in the event of damaged item/s on delivery, customers confirm in writing in the form of an email the details of the damages to the item/s received and they join photographs; unless this is done a 'returns number' cannot be issued;
- customers return the products in their original packaging resealed, labelled carefully and packed up securely so they are not lost or damaged in transit;
- customers join to the parcel/s the completed ‘returns form’ together with the obtained 'returns number' added to the form. If customers do not have internet/PC access, the customer service agent will post one as soon as possible;

- cancelled items must reach us in a perfect saleable condition.

Cost of returning products: if a product is damaged as noticed at the point of delivery, the delivery provider will take away the parcel there and then and will return it to us. There will be no extra cost to the customer. The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 / Returns states that since 31 October 2000 UK consumers have the right to cancel their order within a 'cooling off period', this 'cooling off period' is of 7 working days starting the day after the delivery. In our case if customers change their mind and decide to cancel after the goods have been delivered, Maison & Mirrors will accept returns up to 14 days after the initial delivery; customers are responsible for returning them at their own cost. This does not affect their statutory rights. Maison & Mirrors can help arrange the return of products through our range of couriers. If customers prefer to organise their own transport we recommend that customers use insured registered delivery and keep the receipt until we confirm receipt of the items. Alternatively customers can return the products in person to the London outlet which opens Mon-Sat 9-7, Sundays 10-4. Refunds and exchanges will be processed within 7 days of us having received the returned products. Maison & Mirrors and Dirk Trading Limited cannot be responsible for interest charges made by the customer' credit card company whilst waiting for returns to be refunded to their card.
